Jessie Keating Hardy, Esq. joined Kirk.Drennan, P.C. in February, 2011, and became Partner in April, 2016, working exclusively in the Domestic and Family Law Practice Group. Jessie is dually licensed to practice in both Alabama and Florida and she has been practicing domestic and family law since 2010.
Jessie is passionate about family law and her representation of individuals in transition. Jessie accepts her own cases for representation and also serves as second chair on cases for Jessica Kirk Drennan, Esq. Her practice is focused on divorced, both contested and uncontested, property division, asset valuation and/or dissipation, alimony, child support, child custody, visitation, paternity, dependency, post-divorce modification, contempt and other family law issues.
In 2015 Jessie was nominated as a Future Leader of the Birmingham Bar Association which is reserved for the rising names in the legal profession. In 2014, Jessie was awarded the honor of Rising Start Lawyer, nominated by her peers in the Birmingham Bar Association, and she was featured in the March, 2014 Top Flight Attorneys issue of B·Metro Magazine. She is active in the Family Law Sections of the American and Alabama State Bar Associations. Jessie currently serves as the Director of the Alabama Family Law Section’s premier annual three-day certified legal education program. Divorce on the Beach as well as the Alabama Family Law Section Membership Chair of North Central Alabama which includes Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair and Blount Counties. Jessie is passionate about service and giving back to her community. Jessie is a featured attorney-presenter for the Second Saturday Divorce Workshops offered to local women considering divorce on the second Saturday of each month. Jessie also volunteers for the Birmingham Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program both through accepting pro-bono cases and volunteering at the Domestic Relations Help Desk on Wednesday.
Outside of the law, Jessie is an active member of the Junior League of Birmingham and she has also been a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham.
For some background, Jessie is from Florida where she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology in 2006. Jessie then attended the University of Alabama School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2010. Jessie has received top honors throughout her educational endeavors, including graduating at the top 25% of her class at UA Law. In law school, Jessie was nominated and served as Senior Editor for the Journal of the Legal Profession, where she was responsible for conducting research and providing commentary on cases raising questions of professional legal ethics.
